Award Winner in 2002:
Kirsten Dreyer

Award Winner:

It was a great pleasure for me to learn of my nomitation for the 2002 Hans Christian Andersen Award for my work with the edition of Hans Christian Andersen’s letters. Quite honestly, I was very proud and moved to be compared with H. Topsøe-Jensen, one of the greatest names in Hans Christian Andersen research. This was both an acclamation of my research work and an encouragement to continue publishing editions of letters and articles on Andersen in the years after receiving the award. The award has also given me a welcome opportunity to enjoy a couple of cheerful holidays in Odense with the members of the Award Committee and the new award winners. We have also had some interesting excursions in Hans Christian Andersen’s footsteps. Finally, I also feel it as a privilege to be consulted concerning the nomination of possible future Andersen.
