Award Winner in 2010:
Marc Auchet
Award Winner:
Above all, I see the award as a recognition of my long-standing dedication to the works of Hans Christian Andersen, both as a scholar, a translator and as an organizer of cultural events. It is, however, also a incentive to dedicate myself to further dissemination of his works, the extent and richness of which is still not appreciated. The awards ceremony was unforgettable, and the kindness with which I and my wife were welcomed in the ‘family’ of award winners, was heartwarming. I greatly thank the award committee for the distinction. The works of Hans Christian Andersen are of such richness and originality that without doubt they deserve further and continuous international efforts to promote them. The Andersen Award contributes to heightening international interest in Danish culture and literature.
